1. Chelsea and Michael’s Maryland Wedding

This is a very special feature today, because it just so happens to be my own wedding video I am sharing! This past August, I was married to my best friend, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. We were surrounded by our family and friends and had the best time ever.

Monachetti has the privilege of having a great videographer and editor on board, and who else would I have shoot and edit my own wedding then him! I was thrilled to have Tyler Davis do the video, and man was I blown away (obviously i’m a little bias). Grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy. For those of you interested in the details of the wedding day, see the credits below the video.

  2. Maria and Aaron’s iPhone 4 Wedding Video

This is a very different wedding video then what you may be used to seeing here, but I was so excited by the way it turned out, that I thought i’d share it. Ever since the iPhone 4 came out, and people started talking about the quality of the video it has, it’s made me wonder what it would be like to shoot a wedding using the phone. Well, when I found out my good friend Aaron was engaged to be married, I thought it would be a great opportunity to propose the idea to him. He agreed and boy i’m glad he did.

My goal with this video was to try and create a heart felt wedding video, without using my regular camera or normal effects I do with my other videos. It was an experimental piece, but turned out to work better then I ever thought it would. Here you will find no color corrections, no fancy filters, and no epic slow motion shots. Oh, and an added bonus is that the video was officially released and featured by my very own start-up, BridePOP! Have a look at the video below, and be sure to check out the official post on BridePOP by clicking here.

  3. Recent Press and Reviews

I updated our press section and figured i’d blog about it too. Feel free to read some of our more recent reviews. Somehow I manage to find the BEST brides and grooms to work with, and I can’t thank all my past and future bride and grooms for making my job the best ever. Thank you thank you thank you! :)

    Recent Testimonials:

Van & Eric:Monachetti consists of professional, passionate, and gifted artists. They pour their heart and soul into their work. They make the biggest day of your life the biggest gig of their lives, and the end result is videography that will take your breath away and bring you back to the most precious moments of your life. I cannot say enough great things about Monachetti. I HIGHLY recommend them and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!”

Alisha & David: “Love, love, love this mans work I have yet to see my video but I am so excited about it. I’ve seen Michael’s work from other weddings and I cannot wait to have masterpiece to call my own! It was a pleasure to work with Michael, I booked him one year in advance and he kept in touch and really worked with me to ensure he captured every moment that was important to us. Michael was present during the ceremony and reception and yet he was able to capture special moments without overpowering the event with a huge camera in our faces at every turn. He has really mastered the fly on the wall technique which enabled him to capture people honestly with out breaking the moment. Michael was a pleasure to work with.”

Joanna & Justin: “Michael was the best! He made it very easy to feel comfortable with a camera on me. He did an amazing job filming and he captured everything that was sentimental.”

Denaye & David: “Our experience with Monachetti was perfect from start to finish–from the super cool business card Michael handed us when we met him to the perfect videos that came as a result. Michael was a ninja on our April 2010 wedding day. All dressed in black sneaking around so gracefully that no one even knew he was taping. I have been to weddings where the videog/photog are very invasive and I am happy to say he manages this like the pro he is. I originally didn’t want to hire a videographer because I did not want to see myself dancing on video. The editing done on the video showed us dancing and cut in and out so well that I actually looked like I have some moves! Our video was posted very promptly and mailed to us in the contracted time. I believe it says we have a few thousand views on vimeo, my husband and I are probably about 1000 of those as we loved the video so much we watched it over and over. The price was very reasonable for the product, he could charge double what he did and I would hire him again! And lastly, Michael is just a cool guy. Hands down our favorite wedding vendor.

Aiyana & Michael: “Our videographer was on time, very friendly and professional. We were impressed by the video. Monachetti has a neat style that reminds us of a music video. Everyone we have shown our video to says they wished they had a video just like ours of their day! We would highly recommend them!”

Michelle and Clay: “Monachetti was great to work with! We couldn’t have been more happy with our videos! Michael and Tyler shot and edited everything in the most beautiful, creative, and interesting way possible. Although all of my coworkers are familiar with the Women’s Museum, after seeing the video, they asked where I had the reception because Michael and Tyler made it look a hundred times more beautiful. These guys really know how to compose a shot!!! They have also mastered the arts of making your dorky facial expression appear endearing and editing out those moments no one wants to see on video. When I was getting ready, there were several times when I could have strangled my mother and my bridal party, but Michael and Tyler made me look really charming during the whole getting ready process. And, on an embarrassing note, I had several dress malfunctions during the reception, but none of them made it into my video — I couldn’t be more grateful to Monachetti for that! Lastly, this doesn’t have anything to do with Monachetti’s awesome work, but it merits mentioning. When my mom misplaced her diamond earrings, Michael helped us look for them until we found them! These guys are the best. HIRE them!!”

Karen and Gustavo: “We were awestruck! Monachetti’s video is so much more than a visual depiction of what happened. It is a work of art that captured visually what the wedding experience felt like for us, which was incredibly intense. Monachetti chose truly beautiful and meaningful content and dispensed with the boring parts, as we’re sure there had to have been many. At the event, our videographer was totally unobtrusive, just as one wants the videographer to be. Our interaction through the contracting and booking process was totally problem-free. We can’t wait to share the video with our friends and family. We know we will watch it again and again into the future. It’s exactly what we’d hoped to receive and more. We will definitely recommend Monachetti highly to our friends and colleagues and we wish them much continued success. Bravo, congratulations on a job exceedingly well done, and thank you.”

  4. MJ and Adam’s New York City Wedding

This next wedding was anything short of BREATHTAKING. My good friend and advocate Amy Shey Jacobs from Chandelier Events called me and asked if I was available to shoot a wedding Labor Day weekend in New York City. I am glad I was available, because Marjorie and Adam did it right.

The day started for us at the Trump in SoHo where Marjorie was spending the morning in hair and make-up with a gorgeous view overlooking the city. They also decided to do the ceremony and reception in the hotel, which is always a nice thing for me because everything is in one location, making it super easy to run around and get the shots I need.

I would have to say that the highlight of the day for me (once again) was getting to spend a little time in SoHo with Marjorie and Adam. Mel Barlow was there shooting the photos, and we were able to capture a lot of fun stuff by walking around SoHo for a little. Thanks so much for a wonderful time Marjorie and Adam!

Music: Arcade Fire “(Rebellion Lies)” and Empire of the Sun “Walking on a Dream”

  5. Karen and Ryan’s Philadelphia Wedding

This was one of those weddings where I wanted to just put down the camera for a minute, and join the fun! Right away, Karen and Ryan made us feel like we were friends, and they couldn’t have been a more delight to work with.

They had a beautiful downtown Philadelphia wedding and took advantage of some of the historic spots which gave their wedding such a timeless feel. It was an honor to be a part of the day. Thank you so much Karen and Ryan! I’ve included some of the photos by Lorraine Daley below. Enjoy!

Music: Regina Spector “Us” and Gnarls Barkley “Smiley Faces”

  6. Michelle and Clay’s Washington DC Wedding

Michelle and Clay were an absolute blast to work with. I had the privilege of spending the first few hours of the day with Michelle as she got ready at the Hotel Monaco. The Monaco offers so many great video and photo opportunities, as well as giving you a great space to spend time in while preparing for your wedding day.

Michelle and Clay also took advantage of the city and spent a few hours immediately after the ceremony to take a series of photos at different locations. I would have to say that spending this amount of time with the couple is not only always the highlight of my day, but it also allows for so many great opportunities for photo and video. Hint Hint brides :)  This was my second time shooting a reception at the National Museum of Women in the Arts and it once again proved to be perfect.

Music: Keane “Better Than This” and Phoenix “Consolation Prizes”

Greg Gibson was there doing the photography, and i’ve included some of his photos below.

  7. Jaime and Rory’s Maryland Wedding

This next wedding took me to Mt. Airy Maryland, where I had the privilege of doing the video for Jaime and Rory’s beautiful Maryland Wedding. Jaime and Rory decided to take advantage of the Linganore Winery which afforded so many great video opportunities.

All songs by Jack Penate from the album “Everything is New”

Also, recently I’ve implemented a new feature on the site allowing you to Share, Like (via Facebook), and Tweet the different videos that are posted. Below each post you will see the options, so if you want, go ahead and use those buttons.

  9. Caitlyn and Dave’s Baltimore Wedding

It was such a pleasure to work with Caitlyn and Dave. They were one of those couples who were willing to do anything for the sake of getting fun and memorable shots. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Evergreen Museum and Library in Baltimore Maryland. It was a GORGEOUS place to shoot. So many great locations and back drops to make any video or photos look fun.

Music: Charlotte Gainsburg “Me and Jane Doe” and Feist “I Feel it All”

Recently, I’ve been working with my good friend Tommy Davis to create custom DVDs for all my clients. Below the video are a few photos of Caitlyn and Dave’s DVDs. I think they came out great, and I wanted to be able to show anyone who may be interested in how the final DVDs come.

  10. Meredith and Tommy’s Spring Wedding

It’s always such a pleasure (and so much fun) when I get to do wedding videos for close friends. It was a no brainer for me when Meredith and Tommy expressed an interest in having me cover the video for their wedding. I knew it would not only be a blast, but I also knew I’d be able to capture some super creative stuff. Something Meredith and Tommy were so good at through out the day was making me feel a part of the day. It’s always so refreshing when I do weddings, and the bride and groom take that extra step to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. Thanks guys!

I also had the privilege of working with some great vendors (links below), one of which was an AMAZING photographer. Kristen Marie with Kristen Marie Photography took some great photos, and was an absolute blast to work with. Below the video are a few photos from Kristen’s blog but be sure to see the rest of her post by clicking here.
