Jessica and Chris’ Sherwood Forest Wedding

When I met Jessica and Chris, I knew I would enjoy working with them right away. It could have been solely due to the fact that we all had a liking for IPA Beer, and just happened to all live minutes from Lures Bar and Grille in Annapolis. Or, it could have been more, but that's at least how it started. :) Their Sherwood Forest Wedding in Annapolis was the second time I got to visit this venue. When I shot the wedding of Tommy and Meredith years prior, I was dying to get back and explore more places. As I've done recently, I asked Jessica to give me a little blurb to use for the blog, so you guys could get a little more insight about the vision behind the day. Enjoy!

"Chris and I met in at the University of Maryland while working at the campus recreation center. Six years later he found me on Match.com and 2 years later we were engaged on in a vineyard at the top of a mountain in Cinque Terre, Italy! When we got home I got right to wedding planning. I was lucky enough to come across a wedding post featuring a beautiful wedding at Sherwood Forest which including a video by Monachetti. I simultaneously fell in love with both the venue and the videographer and I knew it was the perfect place for Chris and I to get married. To make it even better, it was just 10 minutes from our home! There was one catch, if you don't live there you need a sponsor. I decided to tell my mom I had found my dream wedding location anyway and by a miracle she called me two days later to tell me a friend of hers parents lived there and they were happy to sponsor us!

From there everything fell into place. I once saw a picture of a black tie wedding in a barn, where picnic tables were set with table cloths and china. I thought it was fantastic. We aren't black tie people, but mixing casual/outdoors with some more formal elements gave us the feeling both of us wanted for the days. Chris and I are pretty casual people, but we still wanted to day to be special and romantic. My favorite elements was being able to be married on the water on a beautiful day under a chuppah that Chris and I made, our get-away in his BMW, the lovely wooden ceremony table and tree slice cake stands a family friend made, and the little touches of our travels throughout our reception."
