South Carolina Weekend Wedding

I spent this past weekend in South Carolina, where I had the opportunity to film a friend’s wedding. It’s always great getting the chance to do weddings for friends, because it’s always a re-union of sorts.

Before and after the wedding, I got the chance to catch up with some great friends, and enjoy the comforts of South Carolina. It’s one of those states that has the ability to make you feel at rest, just by the surroundings. And, of course, I shot a wedding, which I can’t wait to edit and deliver to the happy couple.

I’m excited to say that Monachetti is now listed in Google’s local business results. This means that when searching for all things Monachetti, it will be much easier to find this site, and the information you need. Stay tuned for some more videos, and fun wedding related news! Also, even though I am listed as a “maryland wedding videographer” I LOVE to travel. THE NEW MONACHETTI SITE!

So I wanted to take a minute to let everyone know that I am super excited for this new site! The re-branding, layout, and overall look is something i’m very proud of. A big thank you to my good friend Tommy Davis, who did all the design, and re-branding. He is a super talented graphic designer and you can see some of his work at his website, The Scout Collective.

The new site is something i’ve been itching to have for awhile now. I wanted something to reflect my wedding videos in a simple, yet unique way. At the same time, I needed something that I could completely manage on my own. The whole site is built on WordPress, allowing me to make quick and easy changes at any time. I am working with a developer now to make some subtle, yet fun tweaks to make the site more interactive. So if you see a section that might look a bit un-finished, be sure to check back soon as changes will be happening weekly.

ELIZA + MICAH//A NEW YEAR’S WEDDING

So much to say about Eliza and Micah’s wedding, I’m not sure where to start. The fact that it was on New Year’s Eve added so much fun and excitement to the whole day. You felt like you were a part of something special, something that will be remembered for years and years to come. From the emotional and heartfelt ceremony at 6th and I, to the never-ending party at Hotel Monaco, I enjoyed myself from beginning to end.

A SPECIAL MUSICAL PERFORMANCE FROM THE “DREAM WEDDING.”

I am super excited to bring you this post today! When we did the Dream Wedding, we had the privilege of capturing a beautiful and emotional performance from Van’s sister and cousin during the ceremony. Van and I talked recently about putting together an edit of this performance, and I got to say I was delighted to do so. I asked Van to tell us a little about the performance, so after you take a look, be sure to read what she wrote below.

“Its hard to explain the significance of the song because the peformance was all a surprise to us. It all started when Eric and I decided we wanted Eric’s sister, Andrea, to be the one who marries us. Andrea and I grew particularly close while Eric was deployed– she was always there to comfort me and understood our situation well, being an army wife herself. So while putting together our wedding ceremony, Andrea wanted to personalize the program by incooperating the letters we exchanged during Eric’s deployment and enlisted my talented sister and maid of honor, Bao for musical help. Bao recruited Linh, my cousin, to sing as she accompanied on piano. Andrea told them the general concept, and Bao and Linh put their heads together and selected “Lucky” by Jason Mraz to be a wedding appropriate song but also just the perfect song to describe our story. What they didn’t know at the time is that Eric and I listened to the Jason Mraz CD all the way out to Shenandoah the day he asked me to marry him, so the song selection was perfect.”

I’m very excited to bring to you a special Monachetti video today. Sabine and Jeff were married this Halloween and when I met with them, they had a very special request. They wanted Monachetti to create two videos. One in our own style, and then one in the style of a vintage, 8 millimeter film. Using an older digital video camera, and a few of the great tools in Final Cut Pro, we came up with something we are very proud to show.

Couple (Van and Eric) wins a Celebrity Inspired Wedding from The Wedding Channel and US Magazine and Monachetti was there to cover it! I just got word that they made the video live this morning, so go there now to see what they’ve said about the video and the wedding. Earlier in the summer we announced that we were asked by Amy Shey Jacobs to cover the Dream Wedding. The second of our newest videos comes from Chenise and EJ Henderson. They their wedding reception was hosted at the Pier 5 Hotel in Downtown Baltimore. Chenise reached out to us to let me know they were looking for us to cover just the reception portion of their wedding. So we’ve been a bit backed up and because so are blogging has been a little behind. However, we have some exciting videos in line to push out, so stay tuned! One of the first is a wedding we were super excited to do. Alexandra contacted me and said that our great friend Justine Ungaro referred her to us. With Justine on board for doing the photography, and a ceremony and reception at the National Musuem of Women in the Arts, we were sure it was going to be a fun night.
